The kitchen garden has been established to help improve the quality of life for people experiencing mental health issues, and those who like to work with their hands and be out in the open air.
The garden can be used as a therapeutic space or for more formal training purposes, helping to improve skills, confidence and communication skills for people wanting to move towards the job market.
We intend to increase the range of practical activities such as making planters / window boxes etc and training in the use of produce in the kitchen to produce soups, jams and chutneys, to help us developing a sustainable model with the sale of plants, flowers, hanging baskets, produce etc. which could also include people being able to develop some basic business skills in sales and marketing, admin, finance etc.
